Description

I saw this on Sky Safari Pro 7 and did some research and found this to be an interesting pair of galaxies.  I'm considering this a trial run for the next cluster of galaxies I want to shoot. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised with less than 3hrs of data.
This is also known as ARP 104, and they are 17.3 million light years away from us. What's neat about these two galaxies is the faint line of debris that bridges between them. Current theory is these two galaxies have collided, striping stars, gas and dust from both that make up the bridge. When galaxies collide, they tend to show higher than normal infrared emissions. Studies have shown this to be the case with these two.
